What have I been doing

It's important that as your representative, you're kept aware as to what I have been doing in my various roles.
As I have only just built this site, I don't intend to detail everything going back to 2018, and obviously I can't provide full details of all my casework, but will endeavour to keep you up to speed. There are links at the foot of the page to numerous articles and posts which provide some details about some of my past activities.

Ongoing work and campaigns in Castle Ward and Kendal

Monday March 10th

I had the privilege of representing Kendal Town Council and Westmorland and Furness Council at an event about active travel and 20mph zones in Kendal, organised by the Bicycle Mayor of Cumbria. I spoke about the benefits of safer streets and answered thoughtful questions from an engaged audience. This was held at Kendal's Eddington Centre, a project I am really proud to have been involved with.

That evening, I chaired the Town Council's Environment Committee meeting. We discussed key topics including the potential for a Pump Track, updates on Natural Kendal projects, footpath improvements and strategies for tackling litter in the town. You can view the full agenda here.

Wednesday 13th March

Wednesday was a busy and productive day in my role. I attended a Liberal Democrat policy meeting, where we discussed a range of important issues shaping our agenda.

One of the highlights of the day was chairing the Climate and Biodiversity meeting. We had a fantastic presentation from Natural Kendal, along with contributions from the Council's Climate and Nature team. Their insights reinforced the urgent need for local action to protect our environment.

I'm pleased to say we agreed on funding for several key environmental organisations, including Natural Kendal, Staveley Sustainability Network, and South Cumbria Rivers Trust. This support will help drive crucial work around water quality, sustainability, and climate resilience in our region.
