I'm Eamonn Hennessy and I am a Liberal Democrat Councillor for the
Kendal Castle Ward on both Westmorland and Furness Council and Kendal Town Council
My roles on Westmorland and Furness Council
I am the Chair of the Communities & Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee and also Chair of the South Lakeland Climate and Biodiversity Working Group, where I oversee various projects and consider funding for local groups. I also represent the council on the Kendal Museum Working Group and attend regular events with local community groups. I am committed to supporting initiatives that enhance our environment, strengthen communities, and promote sustainability across Westmorland and Furness.
I receive an annual allowance for my roles as a Councillor.

My roles on Kendal Town Council
I have been a member of Kendal Town Council since May 2018 and currently serve as Chair of the Environment Committee. I am passionate about climate action, biodiversity, and active travel, and I am also a member of the Management Committee and Bloom Committee. I am working on initiatives to make Kendal cleaner, safer, and friendlier. I was involved in setting up the Citizens' Jury on Climate Change and continue to work on implementing its recommendations. I also frequently represent the Town Council at events, advocating for a greener, more sustainable Kendal.
This is a voluntary role.
